Yash and I met through Shaadi.com, an unconventional yet perfect beginning to our love story. He sent me a simple “hi,” and from there, it all started. When I first saw his biodata and discussed it with my cousin, we both agreed that he seemed like the ideal match—someone who ticked all the boxes that any parent would look for in a son-in-law. But, as much as I could see his qualities, I wondered if someone so serious could really be the one for me. I always dreamt of a partner who could balance maturity with a bit of silliness. We even nicknamed him ‘Mr. Bookish’ at one point, and I couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought.
On the very first day we started texting, I remember feeling irritated by his casual replies. I thought to myself, “This is probably not going to work out!” But, as fate would have it, I couldn’t have been more wrong. The conversations that seemed so distant at first eventually blossomed into something I never expected; something truly special.
Once we started talking on the phone, everything changed. It felt like there was no end to our conversations. I still remember the nights we stayed up talking for hours, sometimes until 6 in the morning. Those were some of the best times of my life. It wasn’t just about the long talks, though; it was his unexpected little surprises, the random texts reminding me to stay hydrated, and his willingness to listen to my endless chatter with patience and care.
Though our story began in an arranged setup, by the end of it, we were two people deeply in love, about to spend the rest of our lives together. What started as a journey toward compatibility turned into a beautiful, heartfelt connection, a bond I never saw coming but will forever cherish. In January 2024, we celebrated this love in the most memorable way at our wedding, surrounded by our closest friends and family, marking the beginning of our forever. – Anjali (the bride)
